Couldn't have been better.
Awesome narrative with brilliant descriptions and humour. Plenty of emotion and wonderful narrators Loved the characters, both Connor & Violet, and the boys were also wonderful.

Riveting
Laughed, cried and thoroughly enjoyed this heart felt excellently written story that was wonderfully performed. I’ve listened to many books in this genre and this is one of the best especially in terms of the quality of the writing. Thank you Emma Chase

Brilliant
I'm literally at chapter 8 the end, and I cannot stop laughing... This is the funniest thing I've ever heard. Absolutely brilliant. Came for Zachary Webber.... Left in love with Connor... Even though he was lame at the start lol

Lovely
I have enjoyed listening to this book.
Even though it's not grouped as a series, I feel like it is a series. There's three books that flow on, and 'Getting Real' is the third.

My favourite of the Lakeside series.
Wonderfully written and perfectly narrated in keeping with the tone of the story. Well researched & credible hospital scenarios (love the shout out to nurses) Covers the whole spectrum of emotions in family dynamics.

Storyline = 4 1/2 stars
The narrators for Getting Real were just perfect for the 2 main characters Connor & Violet. Zachary Webber & Andi Arndt made me LOL many times throughout their performances, these 2 never disappoint and I thoroughly enjoyed listening to them both.
Single parent storylines are a favourite of mine, and Connor being a hot, single Dad made this a must listen. Many appearances of Connor's extended family - I really hope his brother Timmy ends up with his own book. I would love to see Timmy fall head over heels for someone that really makes him work for their attention. Connor's 3 children add a lot of entertainment value to the storyline as well, Spencer especially was such a cutie.
Violet was such a sweet character! I adored how klutzy she was around Connor, I couldn't help but laugh at the incident with the shopping trolley in front of Connor & his 3 brothers. I've enjoyed listening to all 3 books in this series due to great narration & very enjoyable storylines, but this one is my fav so far.

Does love like this exist
I devoured this book. It was so sweet and tender ❤️ I really enjoyed the whole thing. Warning - this book will make you yearn for a love story like Violets and ask yourself is Connor real and where can I meet my own one. The only thing I'll add is that the book ends on a less personal note than the lead up and whole story but is satisfying non the less.
